Out with the old and in with the new is how the old saying goes, but South African soapie Generations is doing the opposite.
Executive producer Mfundi Vundla has called on the old services of an old cast member in Connie Ferguson, who played Karabo once. Yes, Connie has agreed to come back to the show that made her a household name in the country.
The actress spoke to local newspaper, The Times saying, “Yes I am coming back.” Connie’s statement comes after Drum magazine reported that Vundla was in talks with her to reprise her role as the beloved Karabo Moroka.
Asked why she chose to return now, she stated, ““I was there at the beginning of Generations . . . I respect its legacy. It would break my heart if it were to be remembered for the way it ended. So if there is something I can do to change that, I will.”
Connie’s return comes after 16 fired actors reported the show’s producers (MMSV) at the Commission for Conciliation Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) forfailing to reach an agreement during mediation.
